China Law and the IDLO

Via China Law Blog we refer to an international lawyers development course at the International Development Law Organization (IDLO).

China Law Blog's Steve Dickinson will be lecturing in Rome, Italy in English on May 18-19, 2006 "on international contract law, with an emphasis on China". Read here for more.

Given the rising importance of Chinese international trade, this looks like a course of importance for decision-makers and attorneys involved in business with China, if you can make it to Rome in May.

We extend a hat tip here for his reference to the China Law Blog by Dan Harris, Steve Dickinson of Harris & Moure.

Comments and Trackbacks Removed From EU Pundit

Due to recent spam-type comments from European Union sceptics, we have removed the comment and trackback functions at EU Pundit. Anyone who wishes to contact us about our postings can do so directly by e-mail, with the proviso that we do not answer anonymous or otherwise cloaked mail, which winds up directly in the wastebasket. Sincere comments which identify the mailer are, however, read with the same sincerity and openness with which they were written. Thank you.

EU Commission Plans to Improve EU Communication with EU citizens

We commented recenty that there was an urgent need to install more modern PR measures to sell the EU to the public.

Lucia Kubosova at the EU Observer reports that "Brussels plans to boost EU press coverage". She writes:

"The European Commission is set to float the idea of an EU press agency and code of conduct for the bloc's institutions and journalists, aimed at boosting communication channels to and from citizens."

A "white paper on communication" will be released by the EU Commision on this subject today.
